Canal Lighthouse – Sturgeon Bay, WI

Before & After

Here’s another shot of the lighthouse in Sturgeon Bay. This shot was taken right after my previous post as the sun was at peak color during these few minutes.

Location

The Sturgeon Bay Canal Lighthouse has this long metal walkway that goes out over the cement pier. This acts as sort of a bridge to get to the lighthouse assuming you were working at it. Now it’s just a nice photographic element.

Composition

When I arrived at the location, I knew I wanted to do some sort of framing shot using the metal walkway as the frame with the lighthouse in the middle. This is the result of my vision for that shot.

EXIF Information

    Post Processing

    Software Used

    Lightroom
    Photoshop

I first did some distortion correction in Photoshop using the puppet warp tool like I did for my previous image. After that I copied all the settings from my previous image into this image to give myself a starting point. I wanted to match the feeling between the two images but found it never quite matched.
